Mini Biography
Laura Ramsey is the Hollywood story personified of a poor girl from the Midwest who arrives in L.A. to seek fame. Fresh out of Laconia High School in Rosendale, Wisconsin, she moved to California shortly after graduation to seek her own fame and fortune as an actress and was discovered while waiting tables in a Los Angeles restaurant on Sunset Boulevard. She was sent out on her first audition shortly thereafter and was cast in the reality-based film, The Real Cancun (2003), based on the popular MTV reality series "The Real World".
Ramsey played a supporting role of Olivia opposite Amanda Bynes in DreamWorks' She's the Man (2006). She co-starred as Gabrielle in director Catherine Hardwicke's film Lords of Dogtown (2005) for Sony Pictures' Screen Gems. Written by Stacy Peralta, the film's ensemble cast includes Emile Hirsch, Heath Ledger, Nikki Reed, and Rebecca De Mornay, among others.
In addition to Lords of Dogtown, she was seen in Dimension Films' Venom (2005). The Reaper is from the creator of Scream (1996/I) and the director of I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), centered on a group of teenagers fighting for their lives in the swamps of Louisiana. It is a movie the audience, particularly the industry, will look at because of the young talent... also starring, but not limited to, Agnes Bruckner, Bijou Phillips, and Method Man.
Also, Ramsey has completed filming the lead role in Maverick Film's Cruel World (2005). In television, she was a series regular, Natalie Day, on the ABC sitcom "The Days" (2004).
